Hard work and a little sponsorship go a long way!

SRA Information Technology (SRA) has proudly sponsored Karah Schultz to help her get to Softball Championships around Australia and reach her goals.

Karah is a dedicated junior softballer with big goals.  She hopes to one day play for Australia and attend college in America to play College softball.

In order to reach these big goals, Karah has to train hard, participate in clinics and attend championships around Australia where she gains valuable skills and experience.

Most recently, SRA’s sponsorship has helped Karah attend the Under 17 Girls National Championships and the Under 15 Girls Regional Championships.

The U17 Girls National Championships were held at Blacktown International Sports Park Sydney, Monday 2nd January – Sunday 8th January 2017. Karah gained invaluable experience with South Australia coming runners up after participating in the Grand Final. Karah participated as an outfielder and as the youngest player in the South Australian Team.

The U15 Girls Regional Championships were at Mirrabooka, WA from Sunday 15th January to Sunday 21st January.  South Australia placed third overall and an excited Karah was Team Captain for the second year running. The SA Team managed a comeback after losing the first few games to make it into the top 5 and then fighting to place 3rd overall.

The game to secure third was a struggle with the team two down at the end of the first innings.  They managed to fight back with some fantastic fielding.  Again, Karah gained valuable experience by participating as she was faced with loaded bases when she came in to bat.  She maintained her composure and hit a triple to score three runs and put the team in front.  Once in that position the team played strong to comfortably take the win against WA Gold. It was an excellent effort and experience for the team to work together and play strong when they were struggling.

The time, effort and financial support from SRA has made a difference with Karah now working towards selection for further championships and softball training programs in 2017.

“SRA has been a great support to me with sponsorship that has helped me attend softball championships around Australia, which is great as I get to play softball, which I love, and I am learning and becoming a better softballer,” Karah said.

Steve Rowe, SRA CEO, likes to support sporting people and teams as it involves people being active, developing friendships and working as a team to achieve a common goal. Much like the culture he likes to foster at SRA – a TEAM working together to achieve success.

“SRA has supported a range of sporting teams and people over the years, including SRA staff and family, as well as local sporting enthusiasts and those representing Australia in the Olympics,” Steve said.
